New wells, deepenings of failing wells, and proper casing on every job. Mud rotary or cable tool depending on what the geology calls for — we’ve drilled in just about every formation Northern Nevada has.
The work itself
Drilling a water well isn’t about reaching water as fast as possible. It’s about reaching the right water at the right depth, with the right casing, in a way that’ll still be producing clean water in thirty years. That takes reading the formation, sizing the bore for the production you need, and not cutting corners on screen and grout where it’s tempting to.
Most of the wells we drill in Northern Nevada hit producing aquifers between 100 and 600 feet, depending on where you are. The Carson Valley has its own water table; the high desert has a different one; foothill properties around Galena and Genoa have their own challenges with fractured rock. We don’t guess. We’ve drilled enough nearby properties to know what to expect, and we set up the rig accordingly.
Scope of work
When you need it
You need a well drilled when: you’re building on land without municipal water; an existing well has dropped to production levels you can’t live with; or your old well has structural failure (collapsed casing, contamination, etc.) that can’t be repaired.
From a recent drilling job
We had our well deepened in Galena. Tom and his crew came highly recommended from multiple people I spoke to. Tom was always reachable by phone, during what turned out to be a difficult deepening that I fully believe a lesser crew would have given up. His team lead on my property was awesome and had decades of experience. Ten days after we have amazing clean water flowing again at 25 GPM.
